CONFEDERATE CEMETERY AND MEMORIAL WALL
West Hill Cemetery is the final resting place for 421 Confederate and 4 Union soldiers who died while fighting in Tennessee and at Chickamauga. The Memorial Wall lists the recently discovered names of Confederate soldiers buried in the cemetery.
TUNNEL HILL HERITAGE CENTER
Artifacts and stories will stir your imagination to what it was like in past times. The Clisby Austin House, once a refreshing getaway for folks in the South to retreat to the “cool” mountains, became Sherman’s headquarters during the Civil War while planning his Atlanta campaign. 10 miles north of Dalton.

DUG GAP BATTLE PARK
Breastworks built by Civil War soldiers during the Atlanta campaign can be found at this site on Rocky Face Ridge. Dug Gap, GA 7 miles north of Dalton.

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN
A Civil War Memorial. Inside Point Park are numerous monuments to the men who fought and died. The New York Peace Memorial features a Union and a Confederate soldier shaking hands.
